David K. Thompson

David K. Thompson, 50, of Fairfield, Iowa, formerly of Ottumwa, Iowa passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at University of Iowa Hospitals after a short illness.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Nate Nims officiating. According to his wishes, the body has been cremated. A private graveside burial will take place at a later date.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Behner Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of David may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association. They can be sent c/o Jim Thompson 1341 W. Business 83 Alamo, Texas 78516.

He was born on December 4, 1959 in the Panama Canal Zone to Jim and Phyllis (Sutton) Thompson, of Alamo, Texas, formerly of Ottumwa, Iowa.

David graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1978, where he was active on the school Swimming and Diving team.

He is survived by his parents, his sister: Missy (Brian) Gorniak of Glen Carbon, Illinois, 4 nieces, his grandmother: Cleo Sutton, formerly of Hedrick, now of Unionville, Missouri, numerous uncles, aunts & cousins. David also leaves behind many special friends in the Fairfield community.

David was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wilbur & Wilda Thompson and Orville Sutton.
