David Ray Gaston, 68, a resident of Fairfield, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Prestige Care Center in Fairfield.

     A memorial gathering will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

     Dave was born December 5, 1957 the son of Virgil Winifred and Bonnie Katherine (Rector) Gaston.

     Dave enjoyed golfing, video games and ESPN. Dave was an avid sports enthusiast. He loved having company and talking to people, as he knew no stranger. Dave enjoyed outings and going out to eat.

     Over the years Dave held many jobs, and volunteered at various places, including the golf range in Fairfield.

     Dave was a devoted Christian and belonged to New Life Community Church in Fairfield.

     Those left to honor his memory include a dear friend, Reg Yoder of Des Moines, and his family at Optimae and Prestige Care Center.
