Darlene Ann Blakley

Darlene Ann Blakley age 81 formerly of Davenport, passed away February 16, 2022, at Good Samaritan Society in Ottumwa.

There will not be any service.

Darlene was born January 28, 1941, to John and Gertrude “Babe” (Bernauer) Coleman in Iowa City, Iowa.

Darlene has lived in the Ottumwa area for the last 8 years.  Prior to that she lived in Davenport and worked 25 years as head chef for St. Ambrose College and Friendly House for Kids.  She was cofounder of meals on wheels in Davenport.  Darlene also taught ceramics.  She loved painting, playing bingo, watching ice skating and figure skating and cats.

Darlene will be missed by her daughter-in-law, Sharon (Glenn) Capps; grandchildren; Crystal Hicks, Rebecca (Jeff) Matejcek and Christopher J. (Miranda) Blakley; 5 great grandchildren, Marcus, Jayson, Landon, Andrew and Kaylynn.

She was preceded by her parents, John and Gertrude; son, Christopher; and five siblings.
