Cynthia "Cindy" Marie Starr

Cynthia “Cindy” Marie Starr, age 70 of Birmingham, passed away Monday, May 4, 2015 at Parkview Care Center, Fairfield, IA.

Per her wishes she has been cremated.

Visitation for family and friends will be 10:00 am – 11:00 am, Friday, May 8, 2015 prior to the memorial service at Suburban Heights Baptist Church.

Memorial service will be 11:00 am, Friday, May 8, 2015 at Suburban Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Ed Parker officiating. Private burial of cremains will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family. Cards and memorials can be mailed to: 24502 115th Street, Birmingham, IA 52535.

Cindy was born April 27, 1945 to Clarence and Elinor (Smyth) Coleman. She married Gerald Starr June 6, 1986.

Cindy was a farm wife. She loved her animals, and treated each as a family member or cherished friend. She loved spending time at the sale barn and talking with her many friends. Judy Aplara became her closest and most trusted of those friends, and provided care and support throughout their time together.

Cindy will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her, and the many fascinating stories from her will linger on our minds.

Special thanks to the U of Iowa Hospital staff, the Parkview Care Center staff, and the Hospice team for providing their best level of care during a most difficult time for all involved.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Gerald Starr of Birmingham, IA; one child, David (Nancy) Coleman; 5 step children, Teresa (Kim) Hart, Gerald O (Tess) Starr II, Johanas (Becky) Starr, Anthony Starr, Ronald (Beth) Starr; special friend, Judy Aplara; 16 grandchildren, Mandalynn Carbonell, Jackie Hart, Valarie Lopez, Gerald Starr III, Jennifer Starr, Anthony Starr, Henry Starr, Anna Starr, Joshua Starr, Jered Starr, Brooke Starr, Alexis Starr, Ethan Starr, Quinn Starr, Angeline and Ronald Starr; 13 great grandchildren; one sister; and two brothers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Elinor Coleman.
