Corrine "Loretta" Keller

Corrine Loretta Keller age 88 of Fairfield passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, IA.

Visitation for family and friends will be 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Behner Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 am, Thursday, November 17, 2016 at First Baptist Church with Pastor John Kermott officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, IA.

Loretta was born October 6, 1928 to Lester and Mary(Kienholz) Zachmeyer in Burlington, Iowa.

Loretta grew up in the Mt. Pleasant – Oakland Mills area and moved to Fairfield in 1938. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1947. Lorretta married Charles Keller Jr. September 1, 1950 at the First Baptist Church in Fairfield, IA. She was a faithful lifelong member, raising her children in the church. Charles passed away April 23, 1994.

Loretta worked 3 years at Universal and 23 years at Fairfield Line as a sewing machine operator. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and crochet dolls. Loretta was a Cubs fan, an active member in Women’s Circle and Maxine Bates Circle at First Baptist Church.

Loretta is survived by her children, Stephen (Lois) Keller and Robert “Bob” (Mary) Keller both of Fairfield, IA and Kerry Keller of Palm City, FL; one son-in-law, Ricky Lantz of Des Moines, IA; 6 grandchildren, Christopher (Jamie) Keller, Clint (Jhonna) Keller, Matthew Keller, Shawn Keller, Kurtis Keller and Julie Keller; 3 step grandchildren, Jeremy (Beth) Lantz, Melisa (Rob) Lantz and Nicole (Johnie) Bright; 10 great grandchildren; and 12 step great grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Zachmeyer and George Zachmeyer; and two sisters, Patricia (Dale) Ritz and Mable (Don) Byers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Mary Zachmeyer, her husband, Charles Keller; one daughter, Donna Lantz; one sister at infancy, Virginia Zachmeyer; and one brother, Richard Zachmeyer.
