Corey Gayland Nelson

Corey Gayland Nelson, age 43 of Fairfield, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015 at his home in Fairfield.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 2:30 pm, Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Elks Lodge. Private burial of cremains will be at Spencer Cemetery at a later date.

According to his wishes the body was cremated.

Corey Gayland Nelson was born June 13, 1972 to Alan Keith and Cheriel Diane (Watson) Nelson in Keosauqua, Iowa.

Corey was a lifelong resident of Fairfield. He worked for Tenco. Corey’s interest and hobbies include; watching his large collection of movies, collecting watches, going to sporting events with his brothers, and his favorite was spending time with his family and friends. Corey was a very kind person and had a memory for details.

Corey is survived by his mother, Cheriel Fleig of Stockport, IA; 3 brothers and 1 sister, Rodney (Bev) Nelson of Libertyville, IA, Matthew (Amy) Nelson of Fairfield, IA, Renae (Jamie) Lisk of Swisher, IA, Kaley (Joni) Fleig of Fairfield; step brothers, Roger (Carrie) Fleig of Fairfield, IA, Leonard (Kay) Fleig of Lincoln, NE; step sister, Marilyn (Casey) Cannon of Spring, TX; and many nieces and nephews.

Corey was preceded by his father, Alan Nelson; step father, Milburn Fleig; and two brothers, Stacey Nelson and Sean Nelson.
