Clifford Lee Winland, 79, a resident of Fairfield, passed away Friday, June 5, 2026 at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

Visitation for family and friends will be 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2026 with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. Memorials may be made to the family.

Cliff was born February 20, 1947 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the son of Charles and Ruth (Kizer) Winland. He married Kathy Heckethorn on December 28, 1976.

Cliff received a diploma in Automotive Mechanics from Indian Hills Community College. He worked for Danielson Motors Company in Fairfield as both a wrecker driver and an auto mechanic. Cliff also worked for Excel Corporation in Ottumwa

Cliff ’s family and friends have fond memories of time spent with him fishing, hunting, and flying remote-control airplanes.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Kathy; son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Jennifer Winland of Cedar Falls, Iowa; grandchildren, George Winland, Robert Estrella, Christina Winland, Timothy J. Winland, Jordan Winland, and Joseph Winland; great-grandchildren, Elli and Leo Winland; and a daughter-in-law, Sheri Winland.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Timothy A. Winland; granddaughter, Janyce Winland; brother, Cleo; and sister, Rosilee.
