Cheryl Ann Houseal

Cheryl Ann Houseal, age 74 of Germanville passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at her home.

Visitation for family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 12, 2019, at Behner Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Dianne Brokken officiating.  After the service she will be cremated.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Washington County or Trojan Honor Plaza.  Cards and memorials may be mailed to Kelly Hillgartner, 2125 Tangerine Ave, Lockridge, IA 52635.

Cheryl was born June 20, 1945, in Fairfield to Clarence and Marjorie (Bogardus) Droz.  She married Gary Houseal February 19, 1961, at the Fairfield Lutheran Church.  This year they celebrated 58 years of marriage.

Cheryl attended Fairfield High School.  She was a school bus driver for the Fairfield Community School District for 24 years.    Cheryl loved to quilt and make crafts.  Every year she would make different crafts and take them to Old Threshers to sell.  Cheryl would also make blankets for the kids at the University Hospital.  Some of her interests were riding in her convertible and on her motorcycle, collecting dolls and shopping in junk shops.  One of her favorite music groups were the Oakridge Boys.   Most important was spending time with her family and grandkids.  Her favorite vacations were with the grandkids.

Cheryl will be missed by her husband, Gary; two children, Kelly (Morris) Hillgartner of Lockridge and Kirk (Maria) Houseal of Farmington, MN; 4 grandchildren, Adam and Bradley Hillgartner and Nicole and Anna Houseal; 2 great grandchildren; and one brother, Steve (Deb) Droz of Winterset, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Marjorie.
