Charlene Lou Elkins

Charlene Lou Elkins, age 65 of Fairfield, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Jefferson County Health Center.

Visitation for family and friends will be 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Behner Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Len Maselli officiating. Burial will be at Abingdon Cemetery, Abingdon, IA.

Charlene was born August 24, 1949 to Melvin Edgar and Willa Mae (Jones) Gobble in Wapello County.

Charlene worked at Fairfield Glove for 20 years, Parkview Care Center 3 ½ years and Jefferson County Hospital for 3 ½ years. She liked watching and listening to Elvis movies/songs, collecting tweety bird memorabilia and spending time with family and friends.

Charlene is survived by her daughter, Marsha Elkins; 6 grandchildren, Crissy Smith, Erin Elkins, Amanda Elkins, Zach Elkins, Katie Elkins and Nathan Elkins; one great granddaughter, Raelynn Elkins; 3 sisters, Cathy Ruby of Ottumwa, IA, her twin Darlene (Larry) Lankford of Libertyville, IA and Barb Topping of Stockport, IA; daughter in-law, Bonnie Bernick; and companion, Rollin Davis of Eldon, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Earl Elkins and nephew, Brad Prevett.
