Cedric H. Ruggles, age 77 of Packwood, IA, passed away at home Wednesday, April 29, 2009. His body has been cremated

Family visitation will be held Sunday afternoon, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM, May 3rd at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Memorial services will be held 10:30 AM, Monday, May 4, 2009 at the First Methodist Church in Fairfield with Rev. Mike Metz officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery.

Cedric H. Ruggles was born in Packwood, IA on December 15, 1931, the son of Orville and Ruby B. (Hale) Ruggles. He graduated from Packwood High School and was united in marriage with Dixie Blair November 13, 1951.

Mr. Ruggles was a farmer for 25 years, an auctioneer for 18 years, and he was employed at American Chain & Cable. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the VFW Post #2271, and Fairfield Eagles Lodge #1927.

He is survived by his wife, Dixie, of Fairfield, and their children and their families: Allan & Carol Ruggles of Burlington, IA, Ellen & Richard Westhoff of Fairfield, IA, and Robert & Sarah Ruggles of Macau, China. Mr. Ruggles was blessed with seven grandchildren: Remington Westhoff, Austin Westhoff, Dustin Ruggles, April Ruggles, Amanda Ruggles, Ben Ruggles, and Jonathan Ruggles; and eight great-grandchildren. Survivors include one sister, Eloise Baumgartner of Sigourney, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Edrith Grimes.
