Carolyn Ann Heaberlin, 68, a resident of Fairfield, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

            A memorial gathering celebrating her life will be from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 18, 2023 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

            Carolyn was born February 8, 1955 in Keosauqua the daughter of Darrell and Agnes (Swails) Hulen. She married Alan Heaberlin, August 20, 1983 at Lacey-Keosauqua State Park.

            Carolyn worked as a nurse for the county nursing home in Keosauqua and later for the VA Hospital in Knoxville. She enjoyed traveling, swimming at Lacey-Keosauqua State Park, listening to windchimes, and collecting lighthouses. She loved her dogs, and cherished her time spent with family.

            Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Alan Heaberlin; sister, Maggie (David) Weber of Davenport; her best friend, Marcia Kelly; daughter-in-law, Amber McCloud of Fairfield; son, Josh Kelly; grandchildren, Summer Canaday, Mesa Canaday, Sheamis Canaday, Sammi Fisher, Felicity McCloud, Soldier McCloud, Nina Cloke, and Evelyn Kelly; great-granddaughter, Lanie McCloud; and surrogate sister and cousin, Joy Brannon.

            She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Dustin Canaday.
