Arlene Rose Pech

Arlene Rose Pech age 86 of Fairfield passed away Friday, March 11, 2016 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa.

Christian Wake will be 5:30 pm, Monday, March 14, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church with visitation for family and friends to follow 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Nick Adam officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

Arlene was born July 3, 1929 to Albert and Evelyn (Koepping) Van Dyke in Muscatine, IA. She married David Pech November 9, 1947 in Muscatine, IA. This last November they celebrated 68 years of marriage.

Arlene graduated from Muscatine High School with the class of 1947. She was a homemaker. Arlene was an active member of St Mary Catholic Church and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed doing crafts, sewing, crossword puzzles and the adventure of traveling. Arlene liked working with flowers and watching birds. What meant the most to her was spending time with family and friends.

Arlene is survived by her husband, David Pech of Fairfield, IA; 5 daughters, Jane Miller of Lawrenceville, GA, Sharlyn Pech of Oak Park, IL, Roxanne (Steve) Hickenbottom of Fairfield, IA, Jeanette (Tom) Pech-Timmerman of Columbia, MO and LeAnn Fredrickson of Fairfield, IA; 8 grandchildren, Collin Syfert, Brendan Syfert, Quinlan Syfert, Nicolette Fredrickson, Corey (Charissa) Hickenbottom, Jessica (Jesse) Knox, Joshua Hickenbottom, and Morgan Pech; 2 great grandchildren, Charlotte and Cora Hickenbottom; 5 siblings, Kathryn Kruse, Wilma Keller, Ralph Van Dyke, Scott Van Dyke and Marsha Wilson.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Evelyn Van Dyke; one son, William Pech; one sister, Janet Stalkfleet; and one brother Roy Van Dyke.
