Marjorie June Worley

Marjorie June Worley, age 91, passed away July 1, 2012 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Ottumwa, Iowa.  Her body has been cremated.

 

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Nate Nims officiating.

 

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Behner Funeral Home.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church and to Good Samaritan Society Hospice of Ottumwa. Cards and memorials can be sent to Jane Knapp, 2090 Northview Drive, Marion, IA 52302.

 

Marjorie was born June 9, 1921 in Oneida,IL to Carl C. Diehl and Ruth Frances Jacobs Diehl.  She married Arthur Edward Worley on Aug. 20, 1944 at the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield, IA.

 

Marjorie was a graduate of Pleasant Plain High School and the Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, MO.  Before her marriage she was employed as a secretary in Galesburg, IL.  She spent most of her life northeast of Fairfield in the Salina and Richwoods farming communities.  She loved gardening, reading, sewing, crafts, and being with family and friends.

 

Marjorie is survived by 3 children: Jane (Paul) Knapp of Marion, IA, Larry Worley of Fairfield, IA, and Marsha Worley-Vandello of Ottumwa, IA, son-in-law: Mike Miller of Ottumwa, IA, 3 grandchildren: Shawn (Joni) Worley, Kent (Staci) Worley and Scott (Ashley) Worley, step-grandchild: Kimberly Jones, great-grandchildren: Jacob, Ashlyn, Willow, Landon and Chase and step-great-grandchildren: Haleigh, Kody, and Kolton. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Richard Diehl, Darrell Diehl, and Alan Diehl, daughter: Sandra Miller, daughter-in-law: Sandra Worley, and son-in-law: Leo Vandello.
