Elinor A. Fordyce age 96, of Fairfield, passed away April 8, 2012 at her apartment in Fairfield.

A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday April 11, 2012 at Fell Cemetery south of Libertyville, Iowa.  A 11:00 a.m. Celebration of life service will follow at the Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville with Pastor Peg Ellingson officiating. A time for fellowship to follow the service at the church.

Friends may sign the register book at Behner's from 12-5 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012.

Elinor A. Fordyce was born  December 15, 1915 in Stockport, Iowa the third child of seven to Fred L. and Effie Carmichael Johnston. She married Kenneth Leroy Fordyce on April 3, 1934 in Memphis, Missouri. He preceded her in death July 27, 1964.

Elinor has lived most of her life in the Libertyville area. She was a homemaker, and worked in the Jefferson county Hospital kitchen for 18 years. Her hobbies an interest include her sence of humor, and never found a crossword puzzle she couldn't solve. Elinor was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.

Survivors include 3 sons and 1 daughter and families, Robert Gene (Linda) of Libertyville, Gordon Lee (Karen) of Davenport, Dana Bruce (Bonnie) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, daughter Jane Ellen (Ronnie) Jackson of San Antonio, Texas, Seven grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, one sister Martha Carlson of Winfield.

Elinor was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth, five siblings, and two grandchildren.
